... and my first Cardinals game this Saturday as well. I wish it wasn't against the lowly Pirates, but this weekend was open and there weren't many weeks left, so I'll take what I can get.
I'll be coming from Chicago via I-55 early Saturday and hoping to stay at a hotel near the stadium... a Holiday Inn like place would be ideal. A place where I can keep my car and not have to pay to park at Busch. Such a place exist?
Hoping to get by early Sat. afternoon to actually walk around downtown St. Louis. Not sure if I'll have time for the arch or not, though it isn't too high on my agenda. I'm just looking forward to seeing it from a distance as I drive in on I-55. Any other must-do's while in St. Louis, or suggestions for food? |

for a hotel near the stadium, try Drury Inn at Union Station, a short walk to busch at a affordable price. _________________

The Drury Plaza is a ton closer to the stadium than the one at Union Station. We stay there or the Westin or Milenium. The Drury/ Milenium are like, 3 blocks from the stadium and the Westin is literally right across the street.
All 3 have parking packages with rooms, the Drury is the most secure parking, as it is under the hotel itself. The Westin's parking is in a lot across from the hotel and the Milennium shares a parking garage with dwntown/ the stadium. _________________ "When I put on my uniform, I am the proudest man on Earth"

Thanks everyone for your responses.
Every freakin' hotel in St. Louis is just about booked up.... thumbs down to me for planning at nearly the last minute. Found a place three miles from the stadium, so looking forward to driving down early Saturday.
White Sox game tomorrow night at the Cell, Go Sox!
Cards game Sat. night, go Red Birds! |
