This is quite interesting. I have been a big supporter of not getting rid of Miller and I will stick to my guns. If we are taking on his full contract I feel we MIGHT be able to give up a bit less and might not have to give up Miller. I am not holding my breathe on this rumor but its interesting for sure. _________________ St. Louis Cardinal Fan for Life. |

I'm more likely to believe the Oswalt for Werth trade rumors, the 'Stros would add a bat right away _________________ Seat Cushion Night 2006: I was there! |

That doesn't sound likely....they need cheap young talent back for Oswalt. Werth isn't cheap nor young. _________________ "I think we just shocked the world." - Jim Edmonds
I don't believe that phrase 'better to have loved and lost than never loved at all', because it sure as heck isn't true about leads in the 9th. |

| I would approve of this trade depending on if we pick up his 2012 option and we don't have to give up a young arm like Garcia. Yes, I'd part with Shelby Miller for Oswalt as Roy Oswalt is a proven ace. I would not trade Garcia though, and I have a bad feeling that's who the Astros would want. |

Now an article in the PD as well....
I don't see who we have that they would be interested in. Or, better stated....who we would be willing to let go for him. Mo will not mortgage our future again....Miller, Garcia, Jay, Craig etc. are players that are relatively inexpensive for a while....even though I'd love to have Oswalt I just don't see it happening....
OK Mo....now go prove me wrong.... |

IMO, its gonna take a magic trick to pull off any trade, especially one for a high profile pitcher like Oswalt. As much as Id really love to have him, I would say Miller, Garcia, and Jay are all untouchable at this point. If they wants to pick the litter among guys like Craig, Stavinoha, Greene, et al, go right ahead, but I doubt that gets too far. _________________ "Who is Karim Garcia?"

Unless Oswalt doesn't demand his 2012 option get picked up (he might do that, since he wants to come to STL) and Houston is more content to let St. Louis pay Roy's remaining salary and receive some mid-level prospects than both, I don't approve. _________________
